Born Again!

On my birthday, how could I not write a blog about a biblical topic?

I went to see my pastor to discuss a few things, and after we talked, he asked me to speak at a funeral. I wasn't prepared, but I trusted God, knowing that all I had to do was stand and he would speak to me. As I approach the funeral home, I see people grieving over their loved ones. After a few minutes there, I stood up to share God's message.

John 3:1-2 (KJV)

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

² The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Nicodemus was a Pharisee who came at night to visit Jesus. I like how the Jewish ruler came to the King of Kings in the middle of the night to hear more about his teachings. That demonstrates his interest in Jesus' teachings. The best topic or subject that you should learn and seek out of all the topics that you are familiar with in this world is Christ's teachings. It doesn't matter how high your IQ is if you don't have a high HQ (Heavenly quotient). Nicodemus was a ruler and an intelligent man, yet he needed to learn from Christ.

Different people saw Jesus in different ways. What are your thoughts about Jesus? To you, who is he? Nicodemus refers to Jesus as "Rabbi."

A rabbi is a Jewish scholar or teacher, especially one who studies or teaches Jewish law.

He claims that Jesus came from God and was accompanied by God. This demonstrates how intently he observed and followed Christ.

³ Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Jesus recognised this man's interest in spiritual matters and considered imparting to him a divine concept. Jesus is aware of our wants and provides answers that are above our wildest dreams. Because Jesus was fully aware of his student’s needs, he gave him a valuable lesson. Even today, and in the future, the subject is relevant...

If you observe, Nicodemus approached Jesus in the middle of the night, yet Jesus did not reject him or become upset because he was bothering him during his quiet time. Our Lord enthusiastically engaged this individual in a fantastic thought and engaged him in a fascinating conversation. Jesus never abandons you; you can contact him at any moment, and he is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Although he was an officer, he concentrated on heavenly pursuits. This serves as a reminder that regardless of what we do for a living or how busy we are, we must spend time with God and seek to learn from him.

Returning to the subject that Jesus brought up with Nicodemus—"Born Again." Yes, you read that correctly: "Born Again."

What is Born Again?

The term "born again" alludes to "spiritual rebirth," or the renewal of the human spirit. Being "born again" is caused by baptism in the Holy Spirit and baptism in water.

When a child is conceived in the womb of a mother, it develops into a baby and is born into the world (this is physical birth). Similarly, when a person is ready to follow the saviour's teachings and accepts him as his personal saviour, he is baptised in water and is filled with the Holy Spirit (born again).

What is the significance of the concept of being reborn? We have all sinned, and none of us are sinless. We cannot enter the kingdom of God until we have been sanctified by the blood of Jesus Christ. That is why Jesus broached the matter with Nicodemus and enlightened him. I will undoubtedly write another blog about "Baptism," but for the time being, this will suffice.

As a result of his late-night encounter with Jesus, Nicodemus is now a transformed man. In John's Gospel, Nicodemus is mentioned three times (Chapter 3, Chapter 7, and in Chapter 19). He seeks to defend Jesus in the seventh chapter (see John 7:50). He arrives to bury Jesus in Chapter 19 (see John 19:39).

People gave their hearts to Jesus at the end of my sermon and accepted him as their personal savior. Hallelujah! What started out as a bereavement and consolation gathering turned into a platform to preach the Gospel. I thank my pastor for sending me here to share God's word, and I am convinced that Jesus wanted me to be here and deliver HIS words.
