DO NOT SELL, BUT BUY!

Proverbs 23:23 (KJV)

Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

We buy products either online or in person. Because of the pandemic, purchasing or ordering a product online is considered safe. We used to be able to go to church and listen to the sermon since churches were open. As a result of the pandemic, all churches have gone online. We're all listening to Bible messages on the internet.

Order items online and listen to messages from the comfort of your own home until things normalize. Please only leave the house when absolutely necessary. Stay at home and keep yourself safe. I'm not recommending anything to anyone (whether you buy products online or attend a church service in person is entirely up to you); so make your own decisions.

This verse (Proverbs 23:23) is urging us to purchase something.

Let's have a look at what the term "buy" means. The meaning isobtain in exchange for payment,” while “accept the truth of” is another meaning.

What exactly are we expected to purchase? This scripture instructs us to purchase the truth. We've all heard the famous Bible verse from John 14:6 (Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life).

Jesus’ is the ‘truth’.

Purchase ‘HIM’.

How do we go about purchasing Jesus? Can we really buy the Lord? Yes, we can. God made this transaction very simple. Look at the Romans (10:9).

Romans (10:9) “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”.

The currency used to purchase the truth is mentioned in Romans.

When we believe the Truth that Jesus came in the flesh to redeem me from my sin and accept him as our Saviour. We just bought the truth. Hallelujah!

We will not be able to enter heaven unless we are saved. This transaction must take place while we are still alive on Earth.

Today is the day of salvation; open your mouth, confess your sins, and accept the Lord as your Saviour. We may not have another day in our life, therefore come to Lord and be saved right now. When offers or promotions are offered online, we are tempted to swipe our cards and get the desired thing, but are we willing to receive Jesus today?

It cannot, however, be merely a verbal confession. It has to be a heartfelt confession. We are saved when we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

If you look at the definition of ‘buy’ isobtain in exchange for payment,” while “accept the truth of” is another meaning. Your sins were transferred to Jesus on the cross, and his holiness was imparted to you. When you open your mouth and confess your sins, his holiness is given to you, and all your unrighteousness is forgiven. Jesus paid the price for your salvation by giving his life in order to save us. Salvation comes as a free gift. Save yourself by praying the salvation prayer. It's really that simple.

It's also worth noting that the thief on the cross accepted Jesus as his saviour and was promised a place in his glory.

The terms 'Buy' and 'Sell' are mentioned in this verse (Proverbs 23:23). We just learned about 'Buy.' Let's take a look at the other word, "sell."

The definition of the word 'sell' is to give or hand away something in exchange for money.

How can we sell the Lord our Saviour? Yes, selling is an option. You have the potential to lose your salvation. If you reject or refuse him with your words, you've sold him.

Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. (Proverbs 23:23 instructs us to buy rather than sell.) What a shame Judas sold the saviour.

We keep buying real estate and gold and never think about selling it. How can we sell or deny our Lord? Only a fool can reject heaven and make friends with this world.

See Matthew 26:14-16

Judas Iscariot, Jesus' chosen disciple, betrayed the Lord. The thief on the cross accepted Christ as his Saviour. You may lose your salvation if you deny or reject God with your words. Judas Iscariot betrayed the Lord just as the redemption work was about to be completed. The thief, on the other hand, embraced Jesus just before his death. If Jesus' chosen disciple can be trapped and lose his salvation, you will not be spared either.

The thief on the cross was supposed to end up somewhere else (hell), but a few minutes before his death, he prayed to God and was saved. As a result, he was guaranteed eternal bliss. In a normal scenario, Judas Iscariot would have been with the Lord in heaven, but after selling the Lord, he hung himself on a tree. We all know that Paul was chosen as one of the twelve apostles to replace Judas Iscariot.

Throughout history, many people have given up their lives while refusing to deny Jesus as their saviour. They accepted the Lord as their saviour and remained faithful to him until the end of their days. In fact, they were unconcerned if they had to die.

We now proceed to the journey with the Lord after looking at the two concepts ‘buy’ and ‘sell’.

Do not go back to your previous way of life after embracing Jesus as your personal saviour.

It's only normal for us to be tempted; evil will constantly persuade us to return to our old habits. You will be tested, and when tempted, open your mouth and quote Bible verses. If you resist the devil, he will flee from you (James 4:7).

The devil will persuade you to sell the truth that you have purchased; do not believe his lies. Declare God's word with boldness and rebuke him and his temptations.

When Jesus was tempted by Satan, he opened his mouth and quoted from the Bible (see Matthew 4:1-11). To withstand the temptations, we must also rely on God's word. May you memorize biblical verses and utilize them to resist the devil's temptations.

Remember by using his own words, Judas Iscariot sold Jesus, and the thief uttered the prayer of salvation. The choice of words resulted in 'buying' (the thief on the cross – accepted the truth) and' selling' (Judas Iscariot – sold the Lord). Will you believe God's word or your own thoughts?

Eve was led out of the Garden of Eden after being tricked by the serpent. Because the serpent used words to confuse her, we must use scriptures to defeat the adversary. Satan tricked 1/3 of the angels with crafty words. These are the end times, and the devil is working overtime to persuade you to deny the Lord. You must be vigilant and remain strong in faith.

We've all heard the parable of the ten virgins: the five wise virgins entered his banquet, while the unwise were told to go to the market because they didn't have enough oil, but it was too late and the door was shut.

Today is the Day of Salvation. You might not be able to 'buy' accepting the Lord as your saviour tomorrow. Accept him as your personal saviour before it's too late.

Accept HIM today, my humble request! Hold on to the Lord until he returns!

Buy the Truth and sell not!

God bless you!
