The Temple of God!

Praise the Lord!

I was thinking about giving a talk about the "Temple of God" the other day. I've made mental notes on this subject so that I can present it to the group in the morning. It was Ganesh's time to speak the Word of God today. And boy, he picked up the verses from 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. What a fortunate coincidence! We are one in Christ, and we are all directed by the Holy Spirit. Both of us were led by the Holy Spirit to talk about the same thing. Thank you very much, Jesus.

Let us now turn our attention to God's word. "God's Temple." Our God created the entire cosmos, but He chose to live among us in our mortal bodies. Isn't that incredible? Yes, God wants to reside in you and your body serves as His temple. Allow this to settle in your heart and mind: God resides in you. The creator wishes to reside within you. I'm at a loss for words when it comes to describing the amazing concept of God abiding in man.

How can our bodies function as God's temple?

God is sinless, whereas man is. Because of our wicked nature, God cannot reside in us. God has a perfect plan to resolve this never-ending issue. He sent his own son, "Jesus," to resolve the issue. For you and me, Jesus died to atone for our sins. We became righteous because of Jesus' completed work on the cross. God can now dwell in our bodies because we are righteous.

I want to emphasize that we are God's property, which implies you have no claim to your body. It belongs to Him and only Him. You must take care of this body in a godly manner, which you can do when you work with the Holy Spirit. We can keep a holy body and live a virtuous life by reading and living the Bible.

Don't you take good care of your expensive motorcycle or car? Similarly, God purchased us via Jesus' blood, and he desires for us to live holy lives. This body necessitates constant upkeep.

When we have been sanctified by Christ's blood, why do we require constant maintenance? Previously, sin reigned supreme, and we were under Satan's control. However, now that we have accepted Christ as our personal savior. We are no longer under the control of the devil. He will torment us till our last breath on this planet, but we are now God's property. Furthermore, we live in a sinful world where it is possible to wander from God's path and engage in worldly pursuits. As a result, in order to live a holy life, we must spend time each day in God's Word and seek Holy Spirit guidance.

Everyone wants to keep their health, work, social status, and finances in good shape. Similarly, we must attend to our spiritual requirements and maintain the temple HE has built.

Now the question is, how well do you keep your body (God’s temple) in good shape? Who do you most frequently associate with? Are they worldly or Godly people? How frequently do you read and obey God's word? Do you have a strong desire to read God's word, or have you become lukewarm?

By God's Grace, Mary kept her body in good shape (i.e. lived a holy life), and God chose her to be the mother of our Savior.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Over the weekend, take a few minutes to meditate on this verse. Make the appropriate lifestyle modifications if God encourages you.

Use your body to honor God!

God bless you!
