Arise And Shine!
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee - Isaiah 60:1 (KJV)
God does
not want you to get complacent in your circumstances; instead, he wants you to
be proactive. God isn't fond of slackers. We must be active and keep moving
like God because we are built in his image. While on earth, Jesus was never
sluggish; he was always bursting with enthusiasm and worked until his last
breath, and you must do the same.
The Old
Testament says, "Arise," because the Light has come to you. This will
become clear at the end of the article. And we witness countless examples of
people being able to get up and walk because of Jesus. So did his followers.
Whether you're reading the Old Testament or the New Testament, God wants you to
grow.
In John 5,
Jesus approaches this 38-year-old sick man and commands him to rise, take up
his mat, and keep travelling. This sick man had been waiting for a miracle for
38 years when Jesus (the Light) approached him and told him to rise. This man
was entirely restored, and he was able to carry his mat and begin walking in
front of everyone. Isn't that incredible? John
5:8
Jairus's
daughter became ill and eventually died. Jesus entered her room and said,
"Arise," and the girl arose. See Mark
5:41
Lazarus was
dead and had been in the tomb for four days when Jesus approached him and
screamed, "Lazarus, come out!" The dead man came to life. See John 11:43
Wherever
Jesus went, he healed the ill, asked them to walk, and they glorified God
(Peter's mother-in-law, palsy carried by four men, etc.).
As children
of God, we are the light of the world, and we must carry on the work that Jesus
began during his time on earth. You must be thinking to yourself, "How is
this possible?" But, yeah, that is conceivable. Remember how John and
Peter helped the crippled man walk? See Acts
3:6
Eutychus (a
young man from Troas) fell asleep during Paul's speech, fell out of a
three-story window, and perished. They took him back upstairs alive after Paul
embraced him and insisted he was not dead.
Acts 20:10
Yes, Jesus
wants to heal your illness, but he also wants to heal you in every part of your
life.
Do you feel
that you're stuck in life (career/finances/spiritual/physical/mental) with no
way out? Take up the Bible and begin reading it? In the region of your
weakness, the word of God will bring light. You will be able to progress and
move to the next level as a result of it.
Arise, shine; for thy light is come (Isaiah 60:1)
‘Arise’
means – get or stand up.
‘Light is
come’ - Jesus discovered you, not the other way around, and this article was
inspired by God rather than my own efforts. He desires for you to read his word
in order for you to shine in this world.
May you
experience an increase in every area of your life, and in order for that to
happen, would you get up and embrace God's word?
Read the
Bible and encourage others to do likewise so that the light of God might
continue to shine in the world.
God bless you!
