Tower of Strength

Proverbs 18:10 (KJV)

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

What is the first name that comes to mind when crisis arises? Who are you relying on? In times of adversity, do you think about your mother, father, siblings, or other loved ones? Do you flee to mortals on the ground or to the Almighty God seated on the throne?

The name of the Lord is described as a strong tower in this verse.

Unbelievers seek assistance from their peers. The righteous, on the other hand, seeks the Lord. We are made righteous by Jesus' blood, and we should always flee to him; we shall be protected in Christ.

We are all familiar with the definition of running. Running can also mean 'swift' or 'fast.' Make no hasty decisions in times of crisis; instead, promptly pray to the Lord your God. When you kneel and pray, you are elevated to the highest tower and find shelter there. You can follow His instructions after praying in His presence.

Let's imagine you got a negative health report. Don't freak out, and don't go looking for more comprehensive information about your health condition on the internet. We surf and receive information from the web since we live in a digital age. Before we run to men (doctors), we surf and get information from the web. Your initial move should not be to go on the internet and look at websites. Call on Jesus instead of the "internet." Pray carefully about your circumstance, and the Holy Spirit will undoubtedly assist you in getting out of it. He'll tell you what you should do. He may guide you to the best doctor or encourage you to make particular lifestyle adjustments. Run to Jesus and lay your health reports at his feet; you will find the strength you need to handle this problem.

Assume, if you had a nightmare in which something bad happened to you, don't run about telling everyone about it. If you tell the Lord about your fear, he will calm you down and strengthen you to overcome it. If you pray about it, he will either remove it or give you the strength to face it.

Some people seek guidance from God's servants; I am not opposed to this. But, before we go to God's servants, why can't we go straight to God? Why can't you have a better relationship with the Lord if you think you have a wonderful relationship with God's servant? It's not a bad thing to seek support from God's children, but make God your first choice, not your third, fourth, or fifth.

The verse says “the righteous runneth into ityou need to go deep in prayer and not just offer superficial prayers.

'Running' refers to the activity of moving quickly on foot. The devil is fighting with you on earth until you pray, but when you kneel and pray, you have moved quickly from earth to the strong tower (LORD). The term 'tower' refers to a structure that rises above its surroundings. Change the battleground by immediately kneeling and praying.

This lovely verse taught us the following lessons:

  1. ·         The name JESUS, not 'man,' should always be the first thing to spring to mind.
  2. ·         Tower means to ‘rise high’, change the battle ground.
  3. ·         Runneth ‘into’ – indicates going deep into prayers.

Why not set everything aside this weekend, dear reader, and immerse yourself in prayer?

Running to men will not keep you safe; running to God will!

God bless you!
