My master and teacher!
My nephew asked me to help him write an essay about 'teacher's day.' I did help him with the composition of his essay. In India, September 5th is Teacher's Day. So, instead of writing a blog post today, I'm penning a few lines about my teacher, "Jesus."
I can't express how much I admire my teacher (Jesus); in fact, no one on this planet could really articulate how
amazing a teacher he is.
Jesus was called Rabbi (Rabbi means a Jewish scholar or
teacher, especially one who studies or teaches Jewish law). John 1:38, 49
Jesus would teach complicated concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
He would teach in parables, and if something was unclear, he would simplify it
and make it plain. He did a lot of one-on-one (e.g. Samaritan woman, Nicodemus)
and group sessions (e.g. Sermon on the Mount).
Jesus
taught people wherever he went. He taught them at the beach and on boats. He
taught them in their homes and while travelling. Jesus walked from place to
place, teaching people. Jesus spoke about a variety of subjects, including
love, forgiveness, prayer, the kingdom of God, marriage, children, and many
others.
Jesus
taught the uneducated and the educated, the affluent and the poor, the monarch
and the servant, the sinner and the pious, the young and the old. He treated
everyone the same and made no distinctions based on their social standing. Isn't
that amazing, and what a wonderful quality to have in a teacher?
Why was
Jesus such an outstanding teacher? One reason for this is that Jesus had been
taught. And he understood the significance of listening. But to whom did Jesus
pay attention? Who instructed him? — His Father had done so. And God is Jesus'
Father. To understand God's word, we must be good listeners. Keep hearing from
HIM (Romans 10:17).
Another
reason Jesus was such a great teacher was that he knew how to keep people's
attention. He described everything in a simple and straightforward manner. He
used birds, flowers, and other commonplace objects to help people understand
God.
The Father asked us to listen to his beloved son (Matthew 17:1-5).
The Holy Spirit will remind us of Jesus’s teachings (John 14:26).
Mary asked his disciples to listen to him (John 2:5).
Jesus is the one whom we must listen to.
Read the Gospels and you'll be inundated with all of Jesus' sayings and
teachings! When we read these words from the Bible, it is just as if Jesus were
talking to us.
He that hath
ears to hear, let him hear (Matthew
11:15).
Will we
listen to God's Son, the Great Teacher, and obey him? — That is what we must
all do.
As citizens
of heaven, we must disseminate His teachings!
God bless you!
